Students are reminded that during activities outside the school, they are ambassadors of the Tobique Valley Middle High School. Students are expected to be well groomed, tidy, and neat in dress, and polite and courteous always. All rules of conduct apply at all times. This applies to sport activities as well, both on and off school property.
The following criteria are described to help students understand what is expected of them.
Motor vehicle transportation must be via school bus, or another authorized vehicle. All regular school bus rules will apply during outings. Where cars are used, students are not permitted to drive. All participants must go to and return from activities by authorized vehicle that is driven by a person over the age of 21. Parents who pick up their children will please advise the supervisor themselves (note, telephone, in person). Only students who are participants will be allowed to travel in said vehicles.
In the case of a student who is not a participant of a school group at an activity ON OR OFF school grounds but who is present at such activity, he or she will be under the same rules and regulations as the group, and under the authority of the teacher supervising the group.
In some cases, a fee will be charged to pay for transportation and other possible expenses. If a student is unable to pay, he or she should discuss this matter with the teacher in private. Generally, ability to pay is not a condition for participation in an activity.
