**Tobique Valley High School Late Submission and Academic Recovery Policy**

**Rationale:**

Timely submission of assignments, projects, classwork, and tests is essential for student learning and academic success. Meeting deadlines helps students develop crucial time management skills and ensures that they stay engaged with the curriculum. To foster a disciplined and productive learning environment, Tobique Valley High School has established clear guidelines for late submissions and academic recovery.

**Policy Guidelines:**

1. **Submission Deadlines:**

   – All assignments, projects, classwork, resubmissions, and tests should be submitted by the deadline indicated by the teacher. Notwithstanding this, they must be completed and submitted by the end of the term when report card marks are due.

   – For example:

     – Q1 assignments will not be accepted once Q2 begins. (High School)

     – T1 assignments will not be accepted once T2 begins. (Middle School)

2. **Late Submission Penalties:**

   – Assignments submitted within 10 school days past the due date will receive a maximum grade of 80%.

   – Assignments submitted after 10 school days past the due date will receive a maximum grade of 60%.

3. **End of Term Deadline:**

   – After the end of the term when report card marks are due, no late submissions will be accepted. All outstanding work will receive a grade of zero.

**Academic Recovery:**

– Students are encouraged to utilize available resources such as tutoring, study groups, and teacher after school hours to stay on track and avoid late submissions.

– For students struggling to meet deadlines, additional support and intervention strategies will be offered to help them improve their time management and organizational skills.

**Conclusion:**

By adhering to these guidelines, Tobique Valley High School aims to promote responsibility, accountability, and academic excellence. These policies are designed to prepare students for future academic and professional endeavors where meeting deadlines is crucial. Together, we can create a supportive environment that encourages timely and consistent academic effort.
